The Los Angeles Lakers are arguably one of the most interesting teams to watch as the NBA trade deadline nears, as they have clear needs they need to address.
This year’s title race feels wide open, with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder leading the way thus far.
This means the Lakers have a chance to win another title with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Los Angeles has already made a move by trading for Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton. However, the team still needs another center and a perimeter shooter and defender.
James and Davis have been vocal about improving the roster, with each of them calling for the front office to make a deal to increase their chances of winning.
So far, the Lakers have yet to pull the trigger on another trade, though that could change in the next week.
However, some observers, such as media pundit Skip Bayless, believe the Lakers have enough and their stars shouldn’t be complaining.
“You’ve got LeBron and AD. I’ll take these two over any two you can throw at me from any other team. Tell me I’m wrong about this. And they’re complaining about needing more help? Stop it. Lame. Weak,” Bayless said.

On the one hand, Bayless is right that James and Davis are one of the best tandems in the league and can, therefore, win any playoff series.
However, the floor of L.A.’s roster is fairly low, so adding some meaningful players would go a long way toward enhancing their championship aspirations.
