The New England Patriots knew they needed to improve their offense in the offseason.

One player they targeted was former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Coming off a successful year with the Chiefs, Smith-Schuster hit free agency looking for a new home.

He found it in New England.

The Patriots gave him a three-year, $33 million contract.

He comes to New England hoping to add explosiveness and give Mac Jones a solid receiving option.

But, some people think Smith-Schuster is not completely healthy.

According to theScore, NFL analyst Albert Breer said Smith-Schuster’s knee is a “mess” and “could explode at any point” this season.

That was not a comment that Smith-Schuster agreed with.

He responded by saying, “I don’t think my knee is a ticking time bomb.”

Smith-Schuster believes his knee is getting stronger every day and he is starting to feel his best.

Only time will tell how the veteran wide receiver’s knee will react to having to play once a week.

Yet, it should be comforting to hear he feels good heading into the season.

The Patriots have their hands full heading into the year.

Having to play in the AFC is tough enough.

But, trying to survive the gauntlet that is the AFC East will be difficult.

New England is expected to finish last in the division due to having the worst roster in the division.

One thing the Pats have going for them is head coach Bill Belichick.

He is arguably the greatest head coach of all time and will need a masterclass this year to get the Patriots to the playoffs.
