Joe Montana Names 4 NFL QBs He’d Start A Franchise With

Joe Montana is recognized as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history.

He is most remembered for his four Super Bowl wins with the San Francisco 49ers, but he also played two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Montana has been retired for more than 30 years, but he’s stayed connected to the game in one aspect or another.

He’s appeared on numerous media outlets covering various topics, and the latest was on “The Pat McAfee Show,” when he talked about the four quarterbacks he’d pick to start an NFL franchise.

“I’m thinking the guy in Buffalo, [Josh Allen]. Obviously, Joe Burrow‘s another guy I like a lot. Believe it or not, I like the guy with the Chargers, Justin Herbert. I do also like the guy in Philly, though [Jalen Hurts],” Montana said.

The No. 1 option on his list was Allen, someone who has had a lot of success in the regular season but hasn’t been able to get to the Super Bowl.

Burrow and Herbert have proven to be legitimate stars, but Hurts is the only one of this group to win a Super Bowl, so it was interesting to see Montana’s thought process when choosing these quarterbacks.

Patrick Mahomes was a notable omission, given that he has won three Super Bowls with the Chiefs, a team where Montana fell short of a title.
