NBA fans had mixed reviews about Joel Embiid’s decision to suit up for Team USA in the Olympics.
The fact that he decided to join a stacked team that didn’t need him over Cameroon or even France made some people question his competitive fire.
That’s why it didn’t take long before the fans went at him after his subpar performance in Team USA’s win over Canada (Via Hater Central).

Embiid had just five points on 50% from the free-throw line, adding four fouls.
The fans were ruthless, which is not much of a surprise, given Embiid’s controversial nature.

From a talent standpoint, Embiid might be one of the greatest players we’ve ever seen at the center position.
He can dominate every single star big man in the league on both ends of the floor, and he’s the kind of player who will always back up the trash talk on the court.
He’s coming off averaging over 30 points against the New York Knicks despite being on one leg because that’s just the kind of talent he is.
Nonetheless, perhaps he would be better off focusing on getting healthy and in prime shape ahead of the start of the season instead of playing an additional month of basketball in the Olympics, especially for a team that might not even need him.
