Derrick White of the Boston Celtics loves playing in the NBA, but he can admit that there are certain cities in the league that he doesn’t adore.
He revealed that Memphis, Tennessee takes the cake for his least favorite spot to play in.
“Memphis, probably. I mean, the hotel is probably the worst hotel in the NBA. The food there is good, though,” White said.
Many Grizzlies fans will have this quote in mind the next time White and the Celtics come to town.

White gave a special shout-out to the food of Memphis, and he isn’t the only one.
Memphis, like much of the American South, is celebrated for its great cuisine, and White surely eats well when he visits.
But White isn’t a fan of the hotel that he and his team stay at when they are playing against the Grizzlies.
The league doesn’t reveal where teams stay, but White obviously doesn’t hold a good opinion of his lodging in Memphis.
The Grizzlies have a proud and loyal fanbase, so they might make White regret this comment.
NBA players travel a lot, so it’s important that they are always comfortable.
He didn’t get into why he doesn’t like his accommodations in Memphis, but he finds a way to make the best of it and is still able to show up and compete when his team needs him.
Right now, White is enjoying his summer break because in just a few weeks, he will be on the road again.
His Celtics have a big task this season: finding great success without Jayson Tatum.
It’s going to be a long season for White and his teammates, and he is going to find challenges in Memphis and all over the country.
