
The left-hander has been recalled for the second game of the Blue Jays’ road series against the Cincinnati Reds.
Borucki returned to the Blue Jays after signing a minor-league deal back on Aug. 26 and was assigned to triple-A, bringing the lefty back to where his career began.
The 31-year-old was released by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Aug. 18 after being designated for assignment three days earlier. He has played with the Pirates for the last three seasons after starting his career with the Blue Jays.
In one appearance with Buffalo, Borucki allowed one hit and a walk through 1.2 innings.
In a corresponding move, left-handed reliever Easton Lucas has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo.
The team also placed right-hander Robinson Pina on the 60-day injured list with a UCL sprain in his right elbow.
