Bills Sign Former Jaguars WR

The Buffalo Bills moved swiftly to bolster their wide receivers.

The team signed a familiar face as it prepares for what promises to be another competitive campaign.

They are bringing back Gabe Davis, who returns to Buffalo after spending last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“Bills signing WR Gabe Davis to their practice squad, via Tom Pelissero,” the NFL wrote on X.

Davis joined Buffalo as a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

He played his first four seasons for the Bills before signing a three-year contract with the Jaguars last offseason.

The 26-year-old is working his way back from a torn meniscus that limited him to 10 games last season.

Davis had his best campaign with Buffalo during the 2022 season, when he caught 48 passes for 836 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Jaguars’ confidence in Brian Thomas Jr., combined with the arrival of first-round pick Travis Hunter, also factored into the move.

The practice squad signing allows Davis to rebuild his form while providing Buffalo with some depth behind Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer.

Once Davis returns to full health, he’ll give quarterback Josh Allen another experienced target.

The move fits head coach Sean McDermott’s approach of mixing veteran leadership with developing talent.

Buffalo’s action reflects its understanding of how important depth will be in the AFC.
