Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton didn’t waste any time getting under people’s skin during this NFL offseason, with the one-time Super Bowl champion blasting the former coaching staff of the Broncos for what happened during the 2022 season.

Payton’s main target with his comments was former Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett, who is now the new offensive coordinator for the New York Jets.

Jets superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is very close with Hackett, felt compelled to fire back at Payton for his critical comments, as he was clearly upset by what he deemed as unnecessary by the veteran head coach.

As if Rodgers needed more motivation heading into the 2023 NFL season with the Jets, he seems genuinely angry and bothered by Payton’s comments and may take that into their matchup in October.

John Middlekauff of Volume Sports believes this reaction from Rodgers is pretty telling, as it shows the four-time NFL MVP is all-in with his new team.

Along with making the matchup between the Jets and Broncos in October must-see TV for football fans, it also shows Rodgers is ready to put on a show in the 2023 campaign, even though some have written him off as being over the hill after his last season with the Packers.

New York will undoubtedly benefit from Rodgers being revved up ahead of the upcoming season, with the Jets being under the microscope moving forward and needing a solid season from the veteran quarterback in order to live up to expectations in 2023.
